Adding, verifying and removing a custom domain for your reseller portal
Let your customers reach your portal at your own domain: add it, publish the verification record, verify it, and know what removing a domain does before you confirm.
The Custom Domains page in the Reseller area lets your customers reach your portal at an address of your own, such as portal.yourbusiness.com, instead of your default myPandos subdomain. The default subdomain is shown at the top of the page.
Add a domain
- Sign in at dash.mypandos.io, open the Reseller area and choose Custom Domains.
- Under Add Custom Domain, type the domain name and choose Add.
- The domain appears as Unverified, with a DNS verification required box asking you to create a TXT record. It shows the record's Name and its Value.
- Use the copy button beside the name and beside the value to copy each one exactly. Copied to the clipboard. confirms it. If your browser blocks copying, the page says Could not copy. Select the text and copy it by hand.
- At the company that hosts your domain's DNS, create a TXT record with that name and that value.
- Back on the page, choose Verify.
If the page says Verification record not found yet, the record has not reached the internet yet: DNS changes can take a few minutes. Wait, then choose Verify again.
After it is verified
The domain shows Verified. Routing and SSL are then set up by myPandos, so the domain does not go live at that moment: the page says Ownership verified. Routing & SSL provisioning is pending and your account manager confirms when the domain is live.
Remove a domain
Use the remove button on the domain's row. The page asks you to confirm and explains the effect first:
- A verified domain: customers who reach your portal at that domain stop reaching it under your brand. You would have to add and verify the domain again.
- A domain that was never verified: nothing is served on it, so nothing changes for your customers. You can add it again later.
Choose Remove domain to confirm. Domain removed. confirms it is gone.
