Common questions about cloud hosting answered by our experts.
Cloud hosting distributes your website across multiple servers, ensuring high availability and scalability.
Cloud Hosting is a virtual server with full root access — the same product as our VPS plans, sold under a different name. Unlike Shared Hosting, there is no managed control panel: you get dedicated vCPU, RAM, and storage, choose an OS template at order time, and administer the server yourself over SSH. After purchase, find your IP address and root credentials in the dash's Server Access card for your service.
Find your IP address, SSH port, username, and root password in the Server Access card for your VPS in the dash (https://dash.mypandos.io), then connect with the SSH command shown there. Restart is a graceful reboot; shutdown asks the OS to power off cleanly; stop is an immediate hard power-off; reset is a hard reset like pulling the power, for use only when the VPS is unresponsive since it can lose unsaved data. myPandos manages the hardware and virtualization platform; you manage the operating system and everything installed on it.
Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time from your control panel.
Yes, we offer fully managed cloud hosting where our team handles all server administration.
Run ssh-keygen -t ed25519 in Terminal (macOS/Linux) or PowerShell (Windows), then copy the contents of ~/.ssh/id_ed25519.pub - the .pub file, which is one line starting with ssh-ed25519. In the dash go to Profile, Security, SSH Keys, name it and paste it. New servers you order get it automatically; for a server you already own, use Install SSH Keys on that server's page. Do not paste the private key or the SHA256: fingerprint - both are rejected.
Four things, in order: use SSH keys and disable password login; enable ufw with an allow rule for port 22 BEFORE you turn it on, since Ubuntu ships it installed but inactive; enable fail2ban and raise findtime and bantime to 3600, because the ten-minute defaults miss a patient attacker; and install unattended-upgrades. Then check with ufw status verbose, systemctl is-enabled fail2ban and ss -tlnp. If you are working over SSH, arm "sudo nohup bash -c 'sleep 300; ufw --force disable' &" before enabling the firewall so a mistake undoes itself.
